Worn Thin

i'll be there to see the bottom break eventually
i'll watch you sink down into your place
go and wallow somewhere else
you don't have the sympathy
for anyone but yourself.
And I'll be gone before you realize I was even there.
Nothing seems to matter in the end,
I'm always caught on the other side.
I wish I'd stop wearing my heart out on the sleeve.
(and though i'm far behind I know that i'll be catching up)
I wish I had more to say but this is killing me.
The taste of bitterness will be the last thing I have missed
Is it bad to say that i'm feeling happy, it's too late.

The Worst In Me

The absence of joy in your eyes, for staying astray pays a bearable price.
What brings the worst out in me is knowing I'm nothing you want me to be.
Don't be so afraid my friend, show us a sign of respect. Keep this close but still distant, don't be so afraid my friend.
I wish you were a stranger that I could disengage, too bad you're not.
Hoping you'll get across to me with what you expect, too bad you're wrong.
I hate the way you look at me, leave me alone, I'm letting go
I couldn't feel better.
